The Pro Anima Scientific Committee (anima = breath, life), founded in 1989 by Christiane Laupie-Koechlin under the honorary presidency of Professor Théodore Monod, is a pioneering organization in France. Pro Anima operates as a unique scientific hub for promoting approaches and technologies (AMTs) based on human models for more reliable, predictive, and effective biomedical research and chemical substance evaluation. Pro Anima’s objective is to centralize information on AMTs, connect and support stakeholders, and encourage broader regulatory and practical adoption of these research methods outside of animal models.
