Research Awareness Workshops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Pro Anima Scientific Committee offers unique, informative and inclusive awareness workshops around non-animal methods.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the_goal\"><\/span>The goal ?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Inform and raise awareness<\/strong> about recent health technologies that do not use animals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Highlight their benefits for research and health<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Provide knowledge, but also tools, adapted to different kinds of audience<\/strong>, to participate in greater recognition of human-relevant research and technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"for_who\"><\/span>For who ?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The project is particularly adapted to scientific students, adults, and public decision-makers.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the structures with which we will organize the workshops, beneficiaries, format and content will be adapted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In short, we really want to open the workshops to a wide audience, as it is essential that a larger number of people are aware of these ethical and public health issues.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"when\"><\/span>When ?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>From Spring 2024.<\/p>\n<p>2 possible formats : face-to-face (physical) and remotely (webinar).<\/p>\n<p>Face-to-face, the workshops will take place in spaces made available by partner structures (MJC, cosmetic shops, universities, cultural caf\u00e9s, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>Remotely, via a video-conferencing software.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"what_will_the_activities_be\"><\/span>What will the activities be?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Our ambition, beyond providing knowledge about NAMs, is to create a real open and constructive dialogue between attendees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"how\"><\/span>How ?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Through slideshows, games, discussions, interactive quizzes, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop is oriented around public health issues in the 21st century by addressing the following points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The limits of the animal models &amp; the advantages of non-animal research<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Non-animal innovations and technologies: concrete applications for health<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the end of the session, each participant is offered (or sent) a pack consisting of a tote bag with the latest issue of Pro Anima\u2019s quarterly magazine <em>Sciences, Enjeux, Sant\u00e9<\/em>, the mini-brochure of the workshop and a leaflet.<\/p>\n<h2>The origin of this&nbsp;idea?<\/h2>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/experimentation-animale.info\/opinion-publique\/\">questionnaire distributed online in spring 2020 highlighted the public\u2019s lack of knowledge about animal experimentation and alternative methods<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But it is also the scientists who testify to this lack of knowledge in the field of&nbsp;NAMs<\/p>\n<p><strong>To compensate for this lack of information, awareness-raising actions aimed at different audiences appear essential.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Workshops are designed and led&nbsp;by<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thomas Chardon\u2009\u2014\u2009Legrand <\/strong>(Paris-Saclay University), working science student specialized in popular science at Pro&nbsp;Anima<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr Lilas Courtot<\/strong>, Scientific Head at Pro&nbsp;Anima<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"bouton\"><a href=\"https:\/\/opo4xc1ynuh.typeform.com\/to\/qylyz7TM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Respond to the survey<\/a><\/div>\n<p
