Application deadline extended to May 31, 2026.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Created in 2013 by the Pro Anima Scientific Committee<\/strong>, the EthicScience Prize became the Descroix-Vernier EthicScience (DVES) Prize in 2023, marking the convergence of the objectives and values of Pro Anima and the Fondation Descroix-Vernier<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a total endowment of \u20ac110,000<\/strong> awarded across three categories, the DVES Prize is among the most generously funded in Europe, entirely dedicated to scientific research and cutting-edge technologies that could yield more conclusive results than traditional models (2D in vitro<\/em> or in vivo<\/em> animal studies).<\/p>\n

These new approaches are also grouped under the acronym NAM (New Approach Methodologies).<\/p>\n

The DVES Prize awards nonanimal NAMs-based* research in human health within the biomedical (basic or applied) or toxicological fields.<\/strong><\/p>\n

*the use of animal-derived biomaterials or reagents would be accepted provided that there is clear justification.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Categories and selection criteria<\/span><\/h2>\n

One research project per category will be awarded the DVES Prize. <\/span><\/p>\n

The categories are: Innovation; Qualification; and Jury Prize \u2013 Research Hope. <\/span><\/p>\n

Funding is intended to support ongoing or future research projects (material costs, publications, contracts, etc.).<\/span><\/p>\n

NB: The same laboratory or company may apply in several categories, provided that the applications are clearly distinct and meet the eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This grant aims to reward the development of innovative and original research tools, and\/or scientific work that addresses an untapped scientific frontier.<\/p>\n

The project must be high-risk and\/or demonstrate a strong ambition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Project Leader Eligibility: <\/b>The project leader must be affiliated with a French institution, in the private or academic sector. They may be a researcher, postdoctoral fellow, engineer, team leader, or project leader. Projects submitted with a co-applicant from an international organization are strongly encouraged.<\/p>\n

Project eligibility: <\/b>This project aims to reward research projects that are already well-advanced and must present robust data and initial results.<\/p>\n
